Job Description

Trillium Staffing is now seeking Machine Operators for temp-to-hire opportunities!

This is 2nd shift, Mon-Fri, 3p-11p. Pay rate is $17-$18/hr. Bonus of $1.50/hr upon hire.

As a Machine Operator you are responsible for:
-Checking print against productions order requirements (thickness and dimensions) insure accuracy.
-Select correct tooling/tips for size as indicated by material and clean the tip before cutting material
-Measure material that ground man has loaded on table and verify that steel analysis being used
-Set up torches.
-Dry run is made to insure that there is enough stock to cut.
-Cut part and check against print (clean tip, again if necessary).  If multiple parts are being cut, the first part must be cut and checked. Additional samples will be taken at the discretion of the foreman, dependent on quantity being cut.
-Re-tag drop with size, heat number, p.o. number, width and length. Re-color code if necessary.
-Blue (cutting) copy marked with number of pieces cut, material used and material left.
-Parts are cleaned and/or ground and neatly stacked.
-Leadman inspects sample from each order.  Material tagged with inspection tags by foreman.  Material is then banded or packaged according to customer specifications.
-Complete all necessary information on yellow (pull) copy and turn copy into shipping department.

Qualifications

-Messer Burning machine experience cutting steel is highly preferred
-High School Diploma or GED required
-Must be able to read and understand instructions
-Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
-Able to read a tape measure accurately.
