Job Description

Trillium Construction is now seeking a qualified Safety Professional for a direct hire opportunity!

Our client, a well-established heavy construction contractor specializing in landfill, oil, coal, and natural gas industries, is looking to hire a traveling Safety Professional for work throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Western Maryland, and North Carolina.

The Safety Professional will be predominantly working on heavy highway construction, earth moving, and natural resources support projects in the region. This position is responsible for performing EHS support on assigned projects and will report directly to the Corporate Safety Director.

Salary is DOE and ranges up to $70,000 a year and comes with full benefits!

Duties:
-Conduct weekly inspections on each of up to 15 different jobsites to document audits regarding housekeeping, equipment and machinery condition, environmental concerns, and all other safety related issues
-Provide onsite safety education and training
-Coordinate new employee orientation and cover existing employees’ ongoing safety training needs
-Develop and track corrective actions for audit findings
-Communicate with management, safety staff and employees to keep each jobsite up to date and current regarding changes in safety regulations and programs
-Participate in monthly safety committee meetings
-Correct any environmental, safety and health problems identified by auditors, insurance representatives or internal reviews
-Work with HR to manage workers’ compensation claims and return to work programs.
-Participate in all incident investigations

Qualifications

-4 -year degree in OSH from an accredited college or university preferred
-5 years’ experience as a Safety Professional
-Industrial hygiene experience preferred
-Strong analytical skills
-Ability to stay organized and multi-task
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
